For a while there it seemed as though Jamie X had just disappeared off the face of the earth. With a backing band featuring the crème de le crème of Australian music, the envy of any singer / songwriter in Australia, an acclaimed debut album and a reputation for devastating live performances; seven years ago, the producer / singer/ songwriter seemingly vanished. So where did he go and what has he been doing?
First Jamie travelled to the US, where he worked on his new album with some of the worlds greatest musicians, producers, and sound engineers. This included traveling to the north-east of the US to Maine and working with Bob Ludwig (Coldplay, U2 and Mumford and Sons).
After that, he travelled to Los Angeles and worked with Jack Johnson's drummer Adam Topol and Ben Harpers bass player Juan Nelson; and alongside producer/mixer Eric "Mixerman" Sarafin (Ben Harper, Michael Franti) and Dave Collins (Jack Johnson, Police).
Jamie then went on a sojourn of writing and mixing. He backpacked the world with an acoustic guitar, laptop, Pro Tools and microphone in his bag, and continued to create the album as he travelled throughout the US, Europe, Latin America and finally returning home to Australia.
